The Importance Of Your Voice In Business ️

Today, I decided to select a topic that I believe doesn’t get enough attention. Voice!
Did you know; Your voice has the power to make or break your success. Whether you’re leading your team, closing a deal, making connections at an event or speaking from stage, your voice is your ultimate superpower.
Now I’m going to share with my audience why your voice is so incredibly important and how you can maximise your potential by developing your voice.

First Impressions Matter
Imagine, meeting someone for the first time. They are dressed to impress with an appearance that demonstrates authority and confidence, yet when they open their mouth to speak, you hear a meek, timid, soft voice that negates the authority that was created through their appearance.
Or let’s take the opposite scenario where you meet someone whose dress code leaves a questionable impression as to their experience and authority, yet when they open their mouth to speak, they have a strong, engaging voice that sets the tone for the conversation and leaves a lasting impression, even when they have left the room.
Either way, it’s the voice that will be remembered above the physical appearance, wouldn’t you agree?

Command the Room, using your voice
Who doesn’t want to be seen and respected for their knowledge and expertise? We all do!
Your voice can help you establish this. When you sound confident and knowledgeable, people will take notice of you. They will be more likely to trust and follow a person who sounds like they know what they are talking about (even if they don’t!) That means, when you really discover and develop your voice, you will be able to command the room, every time you speak.

Connecting through Emotion
Emotion in a business setting? Absolutely! Sure, business is very much about numbers and data, but it’s also emotional. I’m not talking about getting teary and letting down your guard, I’m talking about expressing your feelings about something. Whether you’re excited about a new project, or handling a tough situation, your voice needs to match your feelings so people come away with the right sense of joy, excitement, frustration, seriousness, gravity.
This will help you to achieve a much better outcome to enhance your performance. Too many people in business mask their emotions and end up with monotonous boring presentations and
speeches and lack of connection to fellow staff.

Making complicated things sound simple
If you can speak in clear concise sentences, without rambling, without umming and aghing and always sticking to the point, you will make your complex discussions easier to follow and understand. Articulate clearly, slow down and open your mouth when you speak.

It’s Your Time To Shine
If you want to stand out in a crowded market, your voice can be your most powerful tool. Cultivate your speaking style that is authentic yet, powerful and then use it to spotlight yourself and your ideas to set you apart from the masses.
Mastering the Virtual World
How many boring monotonous virtual presentations have you had to sit through over the past 3 years? When you are in the same room as someone, it’s easier to make connections because you have all the tools at your disposal. Your voice, facial expressions, body language, gestures, and physical appearance. In a virtual meeting, you only have your voice and facial expression. In fact, sometimes you only have your voice and may not even be able to see your audience. Therefore, your voice is the tool you need to use to keep your audience engaged with your energy and life.

Persuading Your Audience
A well spoken message that sets the right tone can sway opinions, pull on heart strings and ultimately move people to take an action.
Wrapping it up, Your voices an entire toolkit to success. How you sound can alter how people perceive you, feel about you and remember you. My moto is, all speaking is public speaking. Make your voice heard! Invest in it, develop it and use it to propel you to success in your career, business life or entrepreneurial journey.
